Basic, Tech, and Tourmaline crates—spawns, drops, and ticket summons.

Crates Index

Crates are loot piñatas that fall from the sky, spawn in secret lever areas, or appear after ticket summons. Fruit Forager ships three main families—Basic Crate, Tech Crate, and Tourmaline Crate—each with exclusive drops you cannot buy in normal shops. The Crates and Enchantments Update and Tourmaline Update expanded spawning, shop odds menus, and a dedicated Crates tab in the Index. Read Latest Update for patch context and Gear Backpacks for how pot drops fit your build.

Basic Crate

The starter crate line. Spawns commonly from the sky in early zones and during general world events.

Typical rewards: introductory seeds, basic planting tools, modest coin items, Index filler.

Strategy: Open whenever you see one—low opportunity cost. Do not spend tickets summoning Basic crates late game unless an Order demands crate actions.

Tech Crate

Mid-to-late crate with technology-themed exclusives tied to Extreme Electronics era content and hidden tunnels—Zone T’s lower tunnel reportedly hosts Tech spawns once Tourmaline gear unlocks.

Typical rewards: advanced seeds, electronic-themed plot items, odds listed in the updated Shop UI after Update 15+.

Strategy: Prioritize Tech crates once Volcano income is stable. Lever areas in Greater zones sometimes guarantee Tech spawns after puzzle completion.

Tourmaline Crate

Rarest standard crate with 100% exclusive drop table entries:

Drop (approx. share)Notes
Tourmaline Plant Pot (25%)100% faster growth vs normal pots
Cacao Seed (25%)Criollo or Trinitario Cacao
Pomegranate Seed (25%)Akdona or Dholka Pomegranate
Papaya Seed (25%)Papaya or Carica Papaya

All items are exclusive to Tourmaline Crates—no shop duplicate.

Spawn methods

  1. Rare sky spawn anywhere in the world—competitive on public servers.
  2. Seven-lever area guaranteed spawn after lever puzzle completion.
  3. Tourmaline Station pit spawns near Zone T content.
  4. Ticket summon — community notes cite 750 tickets at a secret fan-elevator area leading toward Zone T for a forced spawn.

Weigh ticket cost against your Greater gate progress—see Early Game Build.

Shop odds and transparency

Later patches moved crate reward odds into Shop and spawner menus. Always open the in-game odds panel before gambling tickets—wiki tables summarize community findings but live numbers can hotfix.

Index and completion rewards

The Index Crates tab tracks opened types and exclusives. Completion grants meta rewards (cosmetics, plot capacity, or ticket printer bonuses depending on patch). Crate hunters finish Index tabs long after fruit rarities are done.

Cross-link fruit grown from crate seeds on Fruits Index—many exclusives only exist via planting.

Lever and station geography

Crates tie into world puzzles:

  • Greater zone levers — added in Tourmaline Update; gate crate pits and Station T progress.
  • Tourmaline Stations A–D — surround overworld; Station T houses Temple upgrades and crate geography.
  • Spawn Crates And Tech Crates Secrets — community name for hidden spawn locations documented after Update 16.

Gliders strongly recommended—see Gear Tier List.

Ticket economy vs crate gambling

Tickets also unlock Greater Area gates for Mythic fruit—often higher ROI than 750-ticket Tourmaline summons for fresh accounts. Mid-game accounts with gates unlocked shift tickets toward crate hunts for exclusive pots.

Plot skins and crate culture

Updates added Tourmaline Plot Skin and Enchanted Plot Skin—cosmetic flex from the same content era. Skins do not change odds but signal Index/crate dedication.

Competitive server tips

Sky crates despawn quickly and attract crowds. Drop glider, land beside the crate, and open immediately—do not flex in chat first. For lever-guaranteed spawns, learn the pull order offline once so event nights are muscle memory.

If ticket summons fail silently, verify you stand in the correct fan-elevator tile and that your ticket balance meets the published cost before reporting bugs.
