How to read this history as a returning player

1. If you quit before Orders (pre-Update 8) — Learn the five-minute Order cooldown before anything else.
2. If you quit during Winter — Frosty/Snowbloom may be inactive; Index can often complete without them.
3. If you missed Update 15–16 — You missed the entire crate + Tourmaline endgame. Start Tourmaline Zone immediately.
4. If you play during content freeze — Developer focus on Voxelia means polish Index, Temple caps, and crate pots instead of waiting for Update 17.

Systems born from each era

• Tickets + Orders — still the spine of Greater gates.
• Gliders — required for Station C and cliff Stations.
• Mines — optional coin sidegrade, not a replacement for Tourmaline.
• Index tabs — permanent collection meta.
• Crates + Enchantments — mid/late power.
• Zone T Temple — AFK scaling endgame.

Pacdot Patch (16.2) detail

The newest numbered patch focuses on transparency: crate reward odds appear inside Shop and crate spawner menus, and the Shop layout changed. Always open in-game odds before spending 750 tickets on a Tourmaline summon—wiki tables can lag hotfixes.
